May 11 (SeeNews) - The operator of Slovenia’s Sostanj coal-fired power plant TES has reconnected to the grid on May 9 the plant's 600 MW Unit 6 after completing planned maintenance, it said.
The unit was shut down on April 26 and planned maintenance work was carried out by around 180 employees and 190 external collaborators, the power plant operator said in a press release earlier this week.
During the shutdown, uninterrupted production of electricity and heat for the Saleska Valley was provided by Unit 5 and the gas unit of the power plant, the operator said.
State-controlled Holding Slovenske Elektrarne (HSE) is the sole owner of TES.
