LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), November 24 (SeeNews) – The operator of Slovenia’s Sostanj coal-fired power plant TES said that the plant's 600 MW Unit 6 was reconnected to the grid, following a five-day shutdown due to a boiler leakage.
Unit 6, which was shut down on November 17, was again synchronised with Slovenia's electricity network on November 22, after the boiler was repaired, TES said in a statement on Monday.
Earlier this year, the unit underwent a two-week regular maintenance and was reconnected to the grid in September.
The owner of TES - state-controlled Holding Slovenske Elektrarne (HSE), said last week that the availability of Unit 6 was 98.76% in the first 10 months of 2020. With installed capacity of 1,029 MW, Sostanj thermal power plant generates one third of the energy output in the country, the company says.
