June 20 (SeeNews) - The number of mobile phone users in Slovenia rose 2.1% on the year to 2.39 million at the end of March, the country’s statistical office said on Tuesday.
The number of mobile post-paid subscribers increased 4% on the year to 1,855,600, the office said in a statement.
Outgoing traffic from the mobile network in Slovenia in the first quarter of 2017 increased 4.1% year on year, to 1.13 billion minutes.
The number of text messages sent rose 0.5% on the year to 682.9 million.
There were 162,757 classic main telephone lines in Slovenia at the end of March, down 18.7% on the year.
The country had 593,339 broadband Internet connections at end-March, up 2.8% on the year. A total of 39% of them were xDSL connections, 30% were cable modem connections and 29% were optical fiber access connections.
Slovenia has a population of around 2 million.
