LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), September 12 (SeeNews) – Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant (NPP) Krsko plans to produce net 5.4 billion kilowatthours of electricity in 2018, it said.
Last year, the plant beat its production target by 22 GWh and generated net 5,967 GWh, Krsko said in a statement. Krskp also surpassed its 2016 production level by 9.9%.
Krsko was shut down between April 1 and May 2 this year for a regular annual revamp, which it did not carry last year.
In 2017, Krsko's operating income dropped to 158.4 million euro ($183.8 million) from 163.3 million euro a year earlier, while costs decreased 2.5% to 158.5 million euro.
Krsko was built in Slovenia near the border with Croatia in the 1970s when the two countries were still part of the former Yugoslavia. The two neighbours share the power plant's output.
