LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), November 15 (SeeNews) – Slovenia’s largest hardware goods retailer Merkur raised its group net profit for the first nine months of 2007 by 44.3% on the year to 12.67 million euro ($18.5 million), as sales also increased, the company said on Thursday.
Group sales through September rose by 20.7% year-on-year to 848.5 million euro, Merkur said in its nine-month financial report.
Parent net profit for the first nine months of 2007 rose to 11.37 million euro from 8.92 million euro a year earlier. The company reported a 23.1% annual rise in parent sales to 687.3 million euro.
Merkur’s shares, included in the broader 15- share index of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, SBI20, added 0.02% to an average price of 402.44 euro on Thursday. The company reported its nine-month results after the close of trading.
