June 6 (SeeNews) - Slovenian retailer Mercator [LJE:MELR] said it has repaid 12-month commercial papers issued on June 6 last year, with a nominal value of 20 million euro ($22.5 million) and an interest rate of 1.75% p.a.
The purpose of issuing commercial papers was managing liquidity, financing working capital and diversification of financial sources, Mercator said in a Ljubljana bourse filing on Tuesday.
Mercator last issued commercial papers in December to manage the maturity of assets and liabilities and diversify the base of debt financing sources.
The Mercator Group is one of the largest corporate groups in Slovenia, as well as the entire region of South-eastern Europe. The controlling company of the group is Poslovni sistem Mercator, d.d., based in Slovenia.
