June 27 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's net electricity production increased by 6% month-on-month to 1,160 GWh in May, the statistical office said.
In annual terms, the country's power output was down 15%, the office of statistics said in a statement earlier this week, citing provisional data.
The April output of the country's hydropower plants decreased 49% on the year and went up 21% on a monthly comparison basis to 363 GWh.
The output of the thermal power plants in Slovenia totalled 252 GWh in May, down 7% on the year and up 22% month-on-month, while the production of Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant, Krsko, grew 3% month-on-month to 509 GWh.
In May, Slovenia imported 872 GWh of electricity and exported 912 GWh. Imports rose 14% compared to the previous month, while exports increased 25%.
On an annual comparison basis, imports went up 51% and exports grew 17%.
Nuclear energy had the largest share of 43.8% in Slovenia's total power production in May, followed by hydro energy with 31.3%, thermal energy with 21.7%, and solar and wind with 3.1%.
