April 26 (SeeNews) - Slovenian port operator Luka Koper [LJE:LKPG] has signed a 36.1 million euro ($38.6 million) syndicated loan agreement with Nova Ljubljanska Banka (NLB) [LSE:NLBR] and Intesa Sanpaolo Slovenia, it said.
The loan is intended for refinancing a portion of existing long-term loans, lowering the interest margin and extending the loan repayment deadline, Luka Koper said in a filing with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Monday.
The loan is based on a variable interest rate with quarterly payment instalments, with the final repayment deadline in April 2032, Luka Koper said.
In January, Luka Koper signed an agreement to take out a 60 million euro syndicated loan from NLB and Intesa Sanpaolo Slovenia to finance the company's investment activities.
Luka Koper made investments worth 45.6 million euro in 2021 to increase the annual capacity of the terminal to 1.5 million TEUs. The port operator ordered two new super post-panamax container cranes, which will arrive in mid-2022, and is preparing the project documentation for the start of construction of the northern part of Pier 1, which will also process containers.
