LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), March 31 (SeeNews) – Slovenian port operator Luka Koper [LJE:LKPG] said it has opened a tender for the construction of a third port entrance that will boost its capacities to handle increasing volumes of cargo.
The construction of an additional entrance with a direct road link to the container terminal will significantly ease the operations of the main dock entry and reduce traffic congestion, the port operator said in a tender invitation earlier this month.
The deadline for submitting bids expires on April 24, as the tender winner will be announced within 90 days after opening the offers.
The job should be completed in 248 calendar days, with 20% of the project financing coming from EU funds and the remainder from Luka Koper's own funding.
Luka Koper operates a number of terminals equipped to handle general cargo, timber, automobiles, containers, livestock, fruit, liquid cargo, bulk cargo and energy.
Luka Koper’s shares traded at 16.90 euro ($18.55) by 10:20 CET on Tuesday on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, after closing down 2.42% at 16.10 euro on Monday.
