September 2 (SeeNews) - Slovenian port operator Luka Koper [LJE:LKPG] said its net profit decreased by 28% year-on-year to 25 million euro ($27.5 million) in the first half of 2019.
Luka Koper group's consolidated net sales revenue rose by an annual 6% to 120 million euro in January-June, the company said in a filing with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange late on Friday.
“Higher revenue was generated primarily from the warehousing and price increase and more favourable cargo structure,” the operator noted.
Consolidated EBITDA fell 23% to 44 million euro.
The group's total maritime throughput fell by an annual 1% to 12 million tonnes in the review period.
In January-June, Luka Koper group allocated 16 million euro to investments in property, plant and equipment, investment property and intangible assets, which is 11.6 million euro ahead of the first half of 2018. Investments were mainly allocated to the transshipment machinery and a new entrance to the port of Koper.
At the end of June 2019, Luka Koper employed 1,662 people, up 40% on the year.
Luka Koper's shares last traded on Friday on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, when they closed unchanged at 27.0 euro.
