February 24 (SeeNews) - Slovenian port operator Luka Koper [LJE:LKPG] booked a consolidated net profit of 74.2 million euro ($78.6 million) in 2022, up from 31.8 million euro in the previous year, it said.
Consolidated sales revenue went up 37% to 313.5 million euro in 2022, Luka Koper said in an annual financial report posted on the website of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Thursday.
The company's consolidated earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose to 83.1 million euro from 31.3 million euro, while the earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) went up to 114.6 million euro from 61.2 million euro.
Investment expenditure fell 3% to 50.8 million euro in 2022, whereas the number of employees grew 4% to 1,801, Luka Koper said.
Luka Koper recorded a maritime throughput of 23.2 million tonnes last year, up 12% as compared to 2021, as container throughput increased to 1.018 million TEUs in 2021 from 997,574 TEUs in the preceding year.
Luka Koper handled 5.9 million tonnes of cargo in 2022, up 18% on the year, with the most pronounced annual rise, of 22% to 351,615 tonnes, registered in the general cargo segment.
