LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), June 21 (SeeNews) – Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant (NPP) Krsko said on Wednesday it plans to produce net 5,900 GWh of electricity in 2017.
Last year the plant beat its production target by 0.6% and generated net 5,431 GWh, Krsko said in a statement on its website. The company also surpassed its 2015 production level by 1.1%.
Krsko was offline between October 1 and November 5 last year for a regular yearly revamp, which it will skip this year.
In 2016, Krsko's operating income dropped to 163.3 million euro ($182.3 million) from 175.9 million euro a year earlier, while costs decreased 7.8% to 162.6 million euro, the operator also said. The company's net profit for the year totalled 451,000 euro.
Krsko was built in Slovenia near the border with Croatia in the 1970s when the two countries were still part of former Yugoslavia. The two neighbours share the power plant's output.
