March 31 (SeeNews) - A consortium led by Slovenia's Kolektor CPG completed the excavations of half of the tunnels on the second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line, state-run project company 2TDK said.
Contractors have excavated 18.7 km of the main and service pipes of the second track, which has a total length of 37.4 km, 2TDK said in a statement on Thursday.
Tunnels make up 75% of the 27.1 km Divaca-Koper railway line, but the service pipes under construction along the three longest tunnels make their total length bigger, 2TDK explained.
Slovenia's government extended the deadline for the construction of a second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line to the middle of 2026 from the end of 2025. The government also increased the estimated investment value of the remaining works to 1.027 billion euro ($1.123 billion) from 940 million euro.
