November 30 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourist arrivals to Slovenia rose by 16.9% year-on-year to 3,070,593 in the first 10 months of 2017, the state statistical office said on Thursday, citing provisional data.
Domestic tourists totalled 1,138,809 in the review period, up 6.1% on the year, taking the total number of tourists to 4,209,402, up 13.8%, the statistical office said in a statement.
Overnight stays by international visitors grew 15.0% year-on-year in January-October, reaching 7,342,361.
Domestic tourists spent 3,410,658 nights in Slovenia in the first 10 months of 2017, up 4.7% on the year. The overall number of tourist overnights in the review period increased to 10,753,019, up 11.5%.
In October alone, tourist visits totalled 365,586, up 12.1% on the year, while overnight stays increased by 8.0% to 834,135.
In 2016, tourist visits grew 9.9% to 4.3 million, while overnights increased 8.1% to 11.2 million.
