LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), December 28 (SeeNews) – Slovenia turned to a budget surplus of 729.7 million euro ($832 million) in the eleven months through November, from a budget deficit of 158.1 million euro in the same period a year earlier, the finance ministry said on Friday.
Total budget revenues increased 12.4% year-on-year to 9.04 billion euro in the January-November period, while expenditures rose by just 1.3% to 8.31 billion euro, the finance ministry said in a statement.
Tax revenues, which represent the main source of state budget revenues, amounted to 7.54 billion euro in the 11 months through November, up 7% compared to the same period in 2017.
VAT revenues, which mostly depend on the growth of private and government consumption, rose by 7.6% to about 3.45 billion euro.
