September 13 (SeeNews) - Slovenia recorded a trade surplus of 181.7 million euro ($214.1 million) in the first seven months of 2021, lower than a surplus of 1.124 billion euro reported for the same period of 2020, the statistical office said.
Seven-month exports rose 18.8% on the year to 22.6 billion euro in the period under review, while imports increased 25.1% to 22.5 billion euro, the statistical office, SURS, said in a statement last week.
The European Union was Slovenia’s main trading partner in January-July, absorbing 14.9 billion euro of the country's exports and providing 15.0 billion euro of its imports.
In July alone, Slovenia's exports rose 17.3% on the year to 3.45 billion euro, while imports went up 26.0% to 3.49 billion euro, resulting in a 37.4 million euro trade gap for the month.
