June 2 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's trade balance deficit shrank to 399.8 million euro ($428.9 million) in the first four months of 2023, from 2.216 billion euro in the like period of 2022, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
Exports in January-April grew 18.2% on the year to 18.247 billion euro, while imports rose 5.2% to 18.647 billion euro, the statistical office, SURS, said in a statement.
The European Union was Slovenia’s main trading partner in January-April, absorbing 10.67 billion euro of the country's exports and providing 10.812 billion euro of its imports.
In April alone, Slovenia's exports went down 5.8% on the year to 3.88 billion euro, while imports fell 12.6% to 4.129 billion euro, resulting in a 249.2 million euro trade deficit for the month.
