May 17 (SeeNews) - New passenger car registrations in Slovenia rose by 6.7% on the year in the first four months of this year, to 17,788, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) said on Wednesday, quoting provisional figures.
In the period under review, petrol remained the most popular fuel type for newly-registered cars in Slovenia, with 10,729 cars, followed by diesel cars (3,293) and hybrid electric cars (1,742), ACEA said in a statement.
From January to April 2023, the European Union car market grew by 17.8% to 3.5 million registered cars. “Despite the year-on-year improvement, sales were still down by 22.8% compared to the same period in 2019, highlighting the EU car market’s ongoing struggle,” according to ACEA.
New passenger car registrations in Slovenia fell by 14.2% on the year in 2022, to 46,339, ACEA said earlier.
