May 7 (SeeNews) - Slovenian manufacturer of components for automotive, medical and industrial use Iskra Mehanizmi will soon open a new production facility located close to Ljubljana airport, local media reported on Thursday.
The company will soon start relocating some its existing production capacities to the new location, state news agency STA reported, adding that the completion of the office buildings depends on the future course of the coronavirus pandemic which has so far resulted in a large drop in the number of orders.
According to earlier media reports, the investment in the project is worth 30 million euro ($32 million).
Iskra Mehanizmi has two production plants - one in the northern town of Lipnica, where it is headquartered, and another one in Kamnik, some 20 km north of Ljubljana.
With the new investment, it aims to increase its existing capacities, as well as to relocate part of production from Kamnik.
Established in 1956, Iskra Mehanizmi today supplies high demanding mechatronic solutions in automotive, medical and industrial applications.
