LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), April 9 (SeeNews) – Slovenia's Intereuropa [LJE:IEKG] recorded the biggest gains among the blue chip companies on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Tuesday after local media reported that state-owned Posta Slovenije will sign a deal to acquire a majority stake in the logistics group, bourse data showed.
Intereuropa's shares closed at 2.7 euro on Tuesday, up 8%.
News daily Vecer reported on Monday that the Slovenian postal services operator has placed a higher bid than the other potential buyer of Intereuropa, UK-based freight forwarder Xpediator, offering to pay 105 million euro ($118.4 million) for a stake of 72% of the share capital of Intereuropa. Posta Slovenije has committed to assume a 70 million euro debt of Intereuropa and expects to close the transaction in the coming months, Vecer said.
The biggest loser among the Slovenian blue chips companies was fuel retailer Petrol [LJE:PETG]. The company’s shares closed 1.13% lower at 350.0 euro.
The SBITOP index, which tracks the most liquid and capitalised stocks on the LJSE, closed 0.04% higher at 873.64 points on Tuesday.
Total trading turnover on the Ljubljana bourse fell to 841,750 euro ($946,529) from 921,520 euro on Monday.
Nova Ljubljanska Banka [LJE: NLB] recorded the largest trading turnover on the LJSE on Tuesday – of 627,030 euro.
