LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), November 22 (SeeNews) – Slovenian logistics company Intereuropa [LJE:IEKG] said its consolidated net profit rose 2% on the year to 4.2 million euro ($4.7 million) in the nine months through September.
Consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) totalled 10.3 million euro in the January-September period, down 5% year-on-year, Intereuropa said in a statement filed with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange late on Thursday.
Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to 5.4 million euro, down from 6.1 million euro in the like period a year earlier.
The group generated sales revenue of 120.2 million euro during the first nine months of 2019, slightly up from 119.2 million euro last year but 6% below plan.
Intereuropa plans to generate 169.5 million euro in sales revenue in 2019.
In the January-September period, the intercontinental transport segment showed the biggest negative difference with the planned figures, while sales revenue in the land transport and logistics solutions segments increased most relative to the same period last year. The highest growth in the land transport segment was recorded in groupage, while a decrease in sales revenue from last year's figures was recorded in domestic transport, railway transport and customs services, the group said.
Sales revenue of 63.9 million euro was generated during the first nine months of 2019 in the land transport segment, which accounts for 53% of the group’s sales, and was up by 1% relative to the same period last year and 4% lower than planned.
The highest proportion or 61% of sales revenue from land transport was generated by the parent company, whose sales revenue was up by 1% relative to the same period last year and 1% lower than planned.
Investment in fixed assets during the nine months of 2019 totalled 1.5 million euro, a decrease of 42% relative to the same period last year.
Earlier this week Intereuropa said that Posta Slovenije has completed a transaction involving the purchase of 72.13% of all shares issued by the logistics group. Posta Slovenije has acquired all of the 10,657,965 preference shares of the issuer plus 9,168,425 ordinary shares, representing 54.53% of voting rights of Intereuropa.
Intereuropa's shares traded at 1.42 euro as of 10:15 a.m. CET on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Friday, unchanged from the previous session.
