April 6 (SeeNews) - Slovenian white goods maker Gorenje [LJE:GRVG] said on Thursday it is launching activities in preparation for a new bond issue with the aim to improve its finances.
The market sounding period, during which the company will decide on the type of bond and its nominal value, will be followed by the offering and subscription phase which is planned to be completed by the middle of May, Gorenje said in a filing with the Ljubljana bourse.
The purpose of the bond issue is to improve the average maturity of financing sources, support the company's strategic plan for the period 2016-20, refinance part of its long-term financial resources and to optimize finance expenses.
Activities regarding the issue and offering of bonds are managed by Nova Ljubljanska banka.
In January, Gorenje said it has successfully completed the offering of commercial paper with a total nominal value of 40 million euro ($42.6 million) and 1.30% interest rate.
