October 21 (SeeNews) - Total stock turnover on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) jumped to 3.77 million euro ($4.09 million) on Friday from 2.45 million euro the day before, mainly due to trading in shares of Gorenje [LJE:GRVG] and Luka Koper [LJE:LKPG], bourse data showed.
Gorenje, the home appliances maker, was also the top gainer among the blue chips on Friday, closing in a positive territory for a ninth straight day.
A total of 178,631 Gorenje shares changed hands in 80 transactions, generating a turnover of 1.62 million euro. The stock added 2.25% to 9.1 euro after growing 4.71% in the previous trading session.
Last month Panasonic completed a due diligence process on Gorenje and is expected to soon reveal whether it will increase its 10.74% stake in the company.
Luka Koper contributed 964,600 euro to Friday's turnover. The port operator's shares closed 0.65% lower at 23.1 euro.
The SBITOP index, which tracks the most liquid and highly capitalised stocks on the LJSE, ticked down 0.04% to 739.71 points after rising 1.32% on Thursday.
Two LJSE blue chips closed higher on Friday, while five fell.
Reinsurer Sava Re led the blue chip decliners on Friday, shedding 0.80% to 13.02 euro.
