September 24 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's economic sentiment index declined in September by a monthly 1.8 percentage points (pps) to 4.7 pps, after rising by 0.8 of a percentage point month-on-month in August, the country's statistical office said.
On an annual comparison basis, the overall economic sentiment indicator rose by 8.5 pps in September, after growing by 12.4 pps in August, the statistical office said in a statement on Thursday.
The monthly increase was influenced negatively by the confidence indicator in manufacturing (down 1.3 pps), in retail trade (down 0.7 pp) and in among consumers (down 0.2 pp). The influence of the services and construction confidence indicators was positive (up 0.2 pp each).
The rise of the sentiment indicator at the annual level was mostly influenced by the confidence indicators in services (up 4.7 pps) and manufacturing (up 2.3 pps). The confidence indicators in construction (up 1.2 pps), and among consumers (up 0.6 pp) also had a positive effect, while the retail trade confidence indicator had a negative effect (down 0.4 pp).
The sentiment indicator is the weighted average of the confidence indicators in manufacturing, retail trade, construction, services and the consumer confidence indicator.
