LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), March 21 (SeeNews) – Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator decreased by 1 percentage point (p.p.) on a monthly comparison basis in March, after a 2 p.p. drop in February, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
The consumer confidence indicator fell in March due to more pessimistic expectations about savings (down by 4 p.p.) and expectations about household finances (down by 2 p.p.), while expectations about unemployment improved by 2 p.p., the statistical office said in a monthly consumer survey.
In March, the value of the consumer confidence indicator was 5 p.p. lower than in the same month of 2018 and 4 p.p. below last year’s average. Among its components, the expectations about the country’s economy and the number of unemployed worsened the most - by 11 p.p. and 10 p.p., respectively. Expectations about savings improved by 1 p.p., while expectations about household finances were the same as in March 2018.
