May 23 (SeeNews) - Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator dropped by 1 percentage point on a monthly basis in May, after rising by 4 percentage points in April, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
The value of the confidence indicator decreased due to the more pessimistic expectations of consumers about savings (by 3 p.p.) and households’ finances (by 2 p.p.). On the other hand, consumers’ expectations about unemployment and the country’s economy were slightly more optimistic, up by 1 p.p. each.
The value of the consumer confidence indicator improved by 13 p.p. compared to May 2016, and was 8 p.p. above last year’s average. In April, it gained 12 p.p. year-on-year.
All four component indicators had a positive impact on the annual change in the confidence indicator. Expectations for the country’s economy improved by 18 p.p., rising 14 p.p. for unemployment levels, 10 p.p. for savings, and 7 p.p. for households’ finances.
