September 22 (SeeNews) - Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator remained flat on the month in September, after gaining one percentage point a month earlier, the country's statistics office said on Thursday.
Two out of four component indicators improved - expectations about the number of unemployed rose by 3 percentage points (p.p.) and expectations about the country’s economy were 2 p.p. higher, the statistics office said. The other two component indicators - expectations about households’ finances and saving expectations - worsened by 2 p.p. and 1 p.p., respectively.
Compared to the same period last year, consumer confidence was down 5 points this month, after falling 7 points in August.
Consumer sentiment was lower in on an annual basis due to more pessimistic expectations of consumers about the savings (by 12 p.p.), the country’s economic situation (by 7 p.p.) and households’ financial situation (by 2 p.p.), while the expectations about the level of unemployment improved (by 1 p.p.).
September's consumer confidence index was 1 point below last year's average.
