LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), January 23 (SeeNews) – Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator rose by 2 percentage points on a monthly comparison basis in January, after increasing by 1 p.p. in December, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
The consumer confidence indicator rose in January due to more optimistic expectations about the country’s economy (up by 5 p.p.)
The expectations about the households' financial and the level of unemployment also increased (by 2 p.p. each), the statistical office said in a monthly consumer sentiment survey. Savings expectations decreased by 2 p.p.
On an annual comparison basis, the value of the consumer confidence indicator was 10 p.p. lower in January.
In annual terms, the decrease was influenced mostly by the expectations about the number of unemployed and about the country’s economy which worsened by 20 p.p. and 14 p.p., respectively.
Expectations about the households’ finances decreased by 4 p.p. and savings expectations were 1 p.p lower.
