LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), February 20 (SeeNews) – Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator fell by 2 percentage points (p.p.) on a monthly comparison basis in February, after increasing by 2 p.p. in January, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
The consumer confidence indicator fell in February due to more pessimistic expectations about the country’s economy - down by 5 p.p.
The expectations about the level of unemployment and savings also decreased - by 2 p.p. and 1 p.p. respectively, the statistical office said in a monthly consumer sentiment survey. The household financial expectations remained unchanged.
On an annual comparison basis, the value of the consumer confidence indicator was 9 p.p. lower in February.
In annual terms, the decrease was influenced mostly by the expectations about the country’s economy and the number of unemployed which worsened by 15 p.p. and 14 p.p., respectively.
Savings expectations decreased by 7 p.p. and expectations about the households’ finances were 3 p.p lower.
