July 21 (SeeNews) - Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator increased by 3 percentage points in July, after gaining two percentage points a month earlier, the country's statistics office said on Thursday.
The indicator improved due to more optimistic expectations of consumers about the household financial situation (by 5 percentage points) and the level of unemployment (by 4 percentage points). The other two indicators - the suitability for saving and country’s economic situation - remained unchanged.
Compared to the same period last year, consumer confidence was up 1 point this month after ending 9 points lower in June.
The improvement was backed by more optimistic expectations about the level of unemployment (by 6 percentage points), the household financial situation (by 3 percentage points) and suitability for saving (by 2 percentage points). Consumer expectations about the country’s economic situation worsened at the annual level by 9 percentage points.
July's consumer confidence index was 2 points below last year's average.
