September 21 (SeeNews) - Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator improved by 1 percentage point month-on-month in September, after remaining unchanged in August, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
The value has never been higher during the entire observation period, which began in 1996, while it was the same in June and January this year, the statistical office said.
The improved expectations about the country’s economy (by 6 percentage points) had the biggest impact on the monthly rise of the confidence indicator. Consumers also had slightly more optimistic expectations about the unemployment level (by 2 percentage points).
On the other hand, their expectations about savings and households’ finances were more pessimistic (by 5 percentage points and 1 percentage point, respectively).
The value of the consumer confidence indicator improved by 8 percentage points compared to September 2016 and was 11 percentage points above last year’s average.
All four component indicators had a positive impact on the annual change in the confidence indicator. Expectations about the country’s economy improved by 14 percentage points, about the unemployment level by 9 percentage points, about savings by 7 percentage points and about households’ finances by 2 percentage points.
