June 1 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's consolidated budget turned to a 793 million euro ($882 million) deficit in January-April, from a surplus of 40.3 million euro in the like period of last year, the finance ministry said.
Consolidated budget revenue fell by an annual 4.2% to 5.96 billion euro in the first four months of the year, while total consolidated expenditures increased by 9.3% to 6.76 billion euro, the finance ministry said in a statement on Friday.
In April alone, the consolidated budget turned to a deficit of 416 million euro from a 211 million euro surplus a year earlier.
The general government budget posted a 699 million euro deficit in January-April, up from the 5.2 million euro gap reported a year earlier, the finance ministry said.
Total revenues of the general government budget fell by an annual 9.7% to some 3.0 billion euro in the first four months of 2020, with tax revenues dropping 13% to 2.5 billion euro.
Total expenditures rose 11% on the year to 3.7 billion euro in January-April.
