November 27 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's consolidated budget turned to a 2.343 billion euro ($2.79 billion) deficit in January-September, from a surplus of 232 million euro in the like period of last year, the finance ministry said.
Consolidated budget revenue fell by an annual 3.5% to 13.6 billion euro in the first nine months of the year, with a 4.3% drop in tax revenue to 12.1 billion euro, the finance ministry said in a statement earlier this month.
Total consolidated expenditures increased by 15% to 15.98 billion euro.
In September alone, the consolidated budget deficit stood at 96 million euro versus 137 million euro surplus a year earlier.
The general government budget turned to a 2.38 billion euro deficit in January-September, from a 139 million euro surplus a year earlier.
Total revenues of the general government budget fell by an annual 10% to 6.66 billion euro in the first nine months of 2020, with tax revenues plunging 13% to 5.5 billion euro.
Total expenditures jumped 24% on the year to 9.04 billion euro in the period under review.
