LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), November 5 (SeeNews) – Slovenian chemicals producer Cinkarna Celje [LJE:CICG] said on Wednesday its net profit rose to 11.6 million euro ($14.5 million) in the first nine months of 2014 from 6.2 million euro a year ago.
However, net sales revenue fell 4.0% to 128.1 million euro through September, of which sales abroad accounted for 110.2 million euro, Cinkarna Celje said in a filing with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange.
The company invested 6.4 million euro in fixed assets in the first nine months of the year, which is 71% more than a year earlier.
In October, the government-run investment firm SDH announced a public call for expressions of interest for the sale of a 70.8% stake in Cinkarna Celje, as part of privatisation plans.
Established in 1873, Cinkarna Celje’s core business is the production and marketing of titanium dioxide pigment. The company, one of 15 enterprises slated for privatisation by the Slovenian government, employs more than 1,000.
