May 14 (SeeNews) - Slovenian car part manufacturer Cimos has restarted operations at two of its three plants in the country, albeit at reduced capacities, following a coronavirus break, local media reported.
The company's plants in the northeastern town of Maribor and in the southwestern town of Senozece have resumed manufacturing at limited capacity, while the restart of the Vuzenica factory, in the country's north, is scheduled for the end of the month, state news agency STA quoted a trade union representative as saying on Wednesday.
The degree of production depends very much on demand, which is now changing all the time and is therefore difficult to say when manufacturing will resume in full swing, the trade union official said.
Cimos suspended production at the beginning of April due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Last year, local media reported that Italian investment firm Palladio Holding Group is considering the sale of Cimos, which its unit TCH Cogeme acquired in May 2017 from Slovenia's 'bad bank', DUTB. TCH Cogeme paid 100,000 euro for the then troubled car part manufacturer and invested a further 18.3 million euro into the company's recapitalisation.
Cimos manufactures mainly turbo compressor and turbine housings, power train components, chassis and car-body parts. The company has a production footprint in four countries in Southeast Europe - Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia.
