December 17 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's central bank has upgraded its forecast for the economic growth of the country in 2021 to 6.7% from 5.2% predicted in June, it said on Friday.
The central bank expects the country's gross domestic product (GDP) to expand 4.0% in 2022, down from 4.8% envisaged in June, it said in a statement.
Slovenia's GDP is expected to rise by 3.3% and 2.6% in 2023 and 2024, respectively, the central bank said.
Growth in consumer prices will remain higher towards the end of this year and the beginning of next year, and will gradually slow down to an average of 3.8% in 2022, the central bank noted.
"We emphasise that the forecasts are accompanied by significant risks, mainly related to possible aggravation of the epidemiological situation, discrepancies in the labour raw material markets, especially energy prices, and conditions in supply chains," it added.
Earlier this month, the European Commission lifted its economic growth forecast for Slovenia in 2021 to 6.4% from 5.7% predicted in July.
