January 9 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's consolidated budget was in deficit of 1.4 billion euro ($1.5 billion) in 2022, down from a 3.1 billion euro deficit in the previous year, the finance ministry said.
Budget revenues in 2022 rose 10.5% to 12.3 billion euro, while expenditure declined 3.8% to 13.7 billion euro, the finance ministry said in a statement on Friday.
Last year's budget revenues reached 98.4% of the plan, while expenditures reached 94%, the finance ministry noted.
Tax revenue in 2022 totalled 10.4 billion euro, 12.3% more than in 2021, whereas value-added tax (VAT) inflow went up 11.7% to 4.7 billion euro and corporate income tax inflows increased by 4.3% to 1.6 billion euro, the finance ministry noted.
Interest expenses in 2022 reached a total of 655 million euro and were 72 million euro lower than in 2021.
