May 6 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's consolidated budget was in deficit of 114 million euro ($120 million) in the first four months of 2022, down from a 1.2 billion euro deficit in the like period of last year, the finance ministry said.
Slovenia recorded a budget surplus of 147 million euro in April, the finance ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
The government has reached 4.6% of the 2.47 billion euro planned deficit for 2022, the finance ministry said.
Budget revenues in the first four months of 2022 rose 20.1% on the year to 4.18 billion euro, while expenditure declined 8.7% to 409.9 million euro.
Tax revenue in January-April totalled 3.38 billion euro, 15.7% more than in the same period last year, whereas corporate income tax inflows increased by 24.2% to 304.3 million euro, the finance ministry noted.
Interest expenses in the first four months reached a total of 342.9 million euro and were 78.5 million euro lower than in the same period last year, the finance ministry said.
Slovenia closed 2021 with a consolidated budget deficit of 2.915 billion euro, equivalent to 5.8% of the estimated gross domestic product (GDP).
