September 20 (SeeNews) - The number of building permits issued in Slovenia in August increased by 7.3% on the month to 575, but dropped 1.4% year-on-year, the office of national statistics said on Wednesday.
A total of 251 permits were issued for residential buildings in August, while 324 permits were issued for non-residential buildings, the statistical office said in a statement.
Of the total number of building permits, 97% were issued for new construction, while the remaining 3% of permits were issued for conversion.
In August, the construction of 278 dwellings was planned, the same as the planned in July.
The combined area of the buildings, for which permits were issued in August, totalled 153,173 sq m, up 15% month-on-month.
