September 20 (SeeNews) - The number of building permits issued in Slovenia in August increased by 24% month-on-month to 644, after falling by 9% a month earlier, the office of national statistics said on Thursday.
A total of 266 permits were issued for residential buildings in August, up 26% on the month, while 378 permits were issued for non-residential buildings, a rise of 24% compared to July, the statistical office said in a statement.
The total floor area of buildings, for which permits were issued in August, was 150,622 sq m, up 9% in comparison with July.
In August, 98% of all building permits were issued for new construction and 2% for conversions.
The construction of 395 dwellings was planned, which is 59% more than in July.
