April 28 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's consumer prices rose by 1.8% year-on-year in April, after growing by an annual 1.9% in the previous month, the statistical office said on Friday.
In April, the largest contribution to inflation (0.6 of a percentage point) came from higher prices of petroleum products, the statistical office said in a monthly inflation report.
In addition, 0.3 p.p. was contributed by higher food prices, while lower prices of clothing and second-hand motor cars pushed down annual inflation rate by 0.1 p.p. and 0.2 p.p., respectively.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices edged up 0.3% in April, after increasing by 0.4% in March.
The month-on-month increase was due to higher prices of footwear, passenger air transport and package holidays.
Measured by the harmonised index of consumer prices, Slovenia's consumer prices rose 1.7% year-on-year in April.
Slovenia posted annual inflation of 0.5% in 2016, following 0.5% deflation in 2015.
