March 31 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's consumer prices grew by 10.5% year-on-year in March, after rising by 9.3% in February, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices remained unchanged in March, after rising by 0.7% a month earlier, the statistical office said in a statement posted on its website.
The strongest upward push on annual inflation, of 2.9 percentage points (pps), came from higher prices of food, as the prices of meat increased by 18.2%, of bread and cereals by 20.1% and of milk, cheese and eggs by 24.4%.
The monthly growth rate was pushed up the most, by 0.4 of a percentage point, by 7.2% higher prices of clothing and footwear. Inflation was mitigated by 0.9 pp by cheaper solid fuels, down 22.4%.
Measured with the harmonised index of consumer prices, the annual growth rate of consumer prices was 10.4% in March.
