February 6 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's consumer prices grew by 10.0% year-on-year in January, after rising by 10.3% in December, the country's statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices went up by 0.2% in January, the same growth as in December, the statistical office said in a statement posted on its website.
The largest upward impact on annual inflation, 3.2 percentage points (pps), came from 19.3% higher prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, followed by 10.1% more expensive services and products in the group recreation and culture, with a contribution of 1.0 pps.
The monthly growth rate was pushed up the most, by 0.4 of a percentage point (pp), by 2.1% higher prices of food, while prices of clothing and footwear decreased by 8.8%, pushing down inflation by 0.6 pp.
Measured with the harmonised index of consumer prices, the annual growth of consumer prices was 9.9% in January.
