February 15 (SeeNews) - The number of passengers carried by Slovenia's Adria Airways increased 13.1% last year, reaching 1,450,400, the national statistical agency announced on Wednesday.
In December alone, the number of Adria Airways passengers decreased 17% on the year to 74,900, the agency said in a monthly transport sector report.
The planes of Slovenia's flag carrier travelled 70 million passenger-kilometres in December, down 20% year-on-year.
Passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport dropped by 2.2% in 2016 to 1,404,000. In December alone, passenger numbers at the airport surged 19% on the year, reaching 95,300.
In 2016, 109,468 passengers were recorded in Slovenia's port of Koper, up 15.6% on the year. In December alone, 1,149 passengers were counted as two cruise ships arrived. None, however, arrived there in December 2015.
The Port of Koper processed 21.2 million tonnes of goods in 2016, up 6.2% on the year. In December, the traffic of goods reached 1.8 million tonnes, 14% more than in the same period a year earlier.
