LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), July 19 (SeeNews) – Telekom Austria said on Thursday its wireless unit A1 Slovenija, previously known as Si.mobil, posted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 18.7 million euro ($21.7 million) in the first half of 2018, down 16.2% on the year.
A1 Slovenija’s revenues decreased an annual 2.3% to 104 million euro through June, while EBIT fell 36.8% to 4.3 million euro Telekom Austria said in its Q2 2018 financial statement.
In the second quarter of 2018 alone, the EBITDA of A1 Slovenija rose 11.2% on the year to 11.4 million euro, while revenues grew 2.1% to 54.7 million euro, Telekom Austria said.
The increase in the cost of equipment and cost of services in the second quarter could be fully offset by savings in the other areas, while higher equipment sales compensated lower mobile service turnover, the company added.
The number of wireless subscribes of A1 Slovenija amounted to 694,400 at the end of June, down 2.8% on the year.
