November 9 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's trade surplus decreased to 482.3 million euro ($550.4 million) in the first nine months of 2018, from 707.4 million euro in the prior-year period, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
Exports rose to 22.9 billion euro in January-September, 9.7% higher than a year earlier, while imports increased 10.6% to 22.4 billion euro, the statistical office said in a statement.
The European Union was Slovenia’s main trading partner in the first nine months of 2018, absorbing 17.8 billion euro of the country's exports and providing 17.7 billion euro of its imports.
In the month of September alone, Slovenia recorded a trade surplus of 17.9 million euro, as exports edged down 0.5% on the year to 2.58 billion euro while imports expanded 7.7% to 2.56 billion euro.
