July 22 (SeeNews) - Slovenian state-run company 2TDK has signed an annex to increase by 1.2 million euro ($1.2 million) the value of the contract signed with a consortium led by Slovenia's Kolektor CPG for the construction of access roads to the second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line, 2TDK said on Friday.
Based on the annex, the total value of the contract now amounts to 17.3 million euro, which is still below the estimated value of 22.5 million euro in the investment programme, 2TDK said in a statement.
Several unforeseen works took place during the construction of the access roads, as the geological and geomechanical conditions turned out to be different from the ones described in the basic research, on the basis of which the project documentation was prepared, 2TDK explained.
Unforeseen works were also related to the relocation of telecommunication lines and optical cables, as well as the protection of archaeological remains and change of the drainage method, 2TDK noted.
The second track of the railway should be built in 2025, and the line should be opened in 2026. After that, the access roads will be handed over to the local community for use.
