March 3 (SeeNews) - A consortium led by Slovenia's Kolektor CPG has completed the breakthrough of the Skofija tunnel on the second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line, state-run project company 2TDK said.
The breakthrough of the main pipe of the 3,808 m-long Skofija tunnel took place a month ahead of schedule, 2TDK said in a statement on Thursday.
Skofija represents the third completely excavated tunnel on the route of the second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line. The project envisages the construction of seven tunnels with a total length of 37.4 km.
In January, Slovenia's government extended the deadline for the construction of the second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line to the middle of 2026 from the end of 2025. The government also increased the estimated investment value of the remaining works to 1.027 billion euro ($1.092 billion) from 940 million euro.
