May 11 (SeeNews) - A consortium led by Slovenia's Kolektor CPG has completed the excavation of the Skofija tunnel on the second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line, state-run project company 2TDK said.
"Excavation and primary substructure have been completed, which means that blasting has been completed in the tunnel," 2TDK said in a statement on Thursday.
In the main pipe of the Skofija tunnel, the construction of the floor vault and foundations is being carried out, 2TDK said.
The consortium completed the breakthrough of the 3,808 m-long Skofija tunnel in March, a month ahead of schedule.
Skofija represents the third completely excavated tunnel on the route of the second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line. The project envisages the construction of seven tunnels with a total length of 37.4 km.
