December 10 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's trade surplus decreased to 390.1 million euro ($443.8 million) in the first ten months of 2018, from 789.3 million euro in the prior-year period, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
Exports rose to 25.8 billion euro in January-October, 9.8% higher than a year earlier, while imports increased 11.7% to 25.4 billion euro, the statistical office said in a statement.
The European Union was Slovenia’s main trading partner in the first ten months of 2018, absorbing 20.0 billion euro of the country's exports and providing 20.0 billion euro of its imports.
In the month of October alone, Slovenia recorded a trade deficit of 59.3 million euro, as exports increased 10.5% on the year to 2.88 billion euro while imports expanded 19.2% to 2.94 billion euro.
